The Gardener and The Farmer
In the high alpine meadows around Revelstoke, the grizzly is known as "the gardener"- turning the earth as it digs for roots, opening space for new wildflowers to grow. The small but determined pika is called "the farmer" - gathering grasses and blossoms to dry and store for the long winter.
